Mathew Rifkin, MD, FACR Mathew Rifkin, MD, FACR
Ultrasound and Abdominal Imaging
Dr. Rifkin, who leads the RALI team, is board-certified in diagnostic radiology. He obtained his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center and was fellowship-trained in ultrasound and computed body tomography at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Medical School. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the Society of Uroradiology. He is also a professor of radiology at SUNY at Stony Brook and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM). He is a member of the New York State Radiological Society, New York State Medical Society and Long Island Radiological Society. He most recently served as the chair of radiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY and director of radiology at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, NY, St. Charles Hospital and Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY.
Elliott Eisenberger, MD Elliott Eisenberger, MD
Neuroradiology
Dr. Eisenberger is board-certified in diagnostic radiology with a certificate of added qualification in Neuroradiology. He was fellowship-trained in neuroradiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he also served as chief resident in diagnostic radiology. He completed a medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Eisenberger earned a medical doctorate from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. He was most recently on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Catherine Medical Center, St. Charles Hospital, and Mather Memorial Hospital, where he served as director of radiology.
Stacey A. Funt, MD Stacey A. Funt, MD
Oncologic and Abdominal Imaging
Dr. Funt is board-certified in diagnostic radiology. She obtained her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She completed a body imaging fellowship at New York University Medical Center, a diagnostic radiology residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, and a transitional internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She was the radiology liaison for physician services at Good Samaritan Hospital as well as the radiology liaison for the oncology services line for Catholic Health Services of Long Island. She was an assistant attending at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Long Island College Hospital and The Brooklyn Hospital Center. She holds an academic appointment at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM). She was most recently on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, St. Charles Hospital and Mather Memorial Hospital.
Stephen M. Henesch, DO Stephen M. Henesch, DO
Pediatric Radiology
Dr. Henesch is board-certified in diagnostic radiology with a certificate of added qualification in Pediatric Radiology. He obtained his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM), completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Connecticut Health Center/St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, and was a pediatric radiology fellow at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He also completed a Transitional Year Internship at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. He was most recently on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, St. Charles Hospital and Mather Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief of Pediatrics at all sites. Dr. Henesch received the Patient's Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition from Vitals.com. He is a member of the Society of Pediatric Radiology.

Musculoskeletal Imaging
Dr. Hwang is board-certified in diagnostic radiology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He did his internship at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and completed a residency in radiology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. He has extensive training in MRI and is a fellow in magnetic resonance imaging at Proscan Imaging in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he gained expertise in musculoskeletal, neuro and body imaging. He most recently served as attending radiologist, musculoskeletal imaging specialist at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Catherine Medical Center, St. Charles Hospital and Mather Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Lastig is board-certified in diagnostic radiology. He served as the chair of the Department of Radiology at South Nassau Hospital for 15 years. He completed undergraduate and medical degrees at Adelphi University and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Nassau County Medical Center and a fellowship in body imaging at University Hospital, Stony Brook. He is the former president of the Long Island Radiological Society. Dr. Lastig was most recently on staff at Doshi Diagnostic Imaging Services in Hicksville, NY.

Dr. Piechowiak is board-certified in diagnostic radiology with added qualification in interventional radiology. She completed her medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) and received a masters degree from SUNY at Buffalo in association with the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, a diagnostic radiology residency at Morristown Medical Center/Overlook Hospital in Morristown, NJ and a rotating internship at Long Beach Medical Center. She most recently served as attending interventional and diagnostic radiologist for New York Radiology Alliance/Virtual Radiologic Corporation, which covers six Long Island hospitals.

Dr. Silfen is board-certified by both the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Radiology. He obtained his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NYC, was fellowship-trained in angio/interventional radiology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and in Body Imaging at North Shore University Hospital. He completed a radiology residency at New York Medical College, Valhalla, and a nuclear medicine fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked as chief of nuclear medicine at Good Samaritan, St. Catherine Medical Center and St. Charles Hospital Hospital, where he ran the nuclear medicine program.

Dr. Steiner is board-certified in radiology, obtained his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Montefiore Medical Center and was fellowship-trained in body imaging at North Shore University Hospital. He is well-known to the South Nassau community, having worked at South Nassau for several years and most recently at Metropolitan Diagnostic Radiology in Garden City.
Sydney S. Yoon, MD Sydney S. Yoon, MD
Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology
Dr. Yoon has worked for a number of years at South Nassau Communities Hospital. He is boardcertified in diagnostic radiology and internal medicine and also has certificates of added qualifications in interventional radiology and neuroradiology. He has extensive experience in fibroid embolization and other vascular and interventional procedures. He completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He earned a medical degree from the University of Chicago, completed a residency in radiology at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and a residency in medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
